Iron Tanks Question

So I have a full 5x5x7 (length x width x height) iron tank full of lava, but I need a third valved added to it. If I break the tank I'm afraid I'll lose all 2.8 million buckets of lava I have stored in it. Will I lose all of it if I break the tank? Is there another way to add a third valve without losing the lava? Any help would be appreciated.

do not break the lowest center block and you will retain all of your liquid.

The lowest center block as in the middle block of the bottom of it? I need to add it to the side.

Replacing the side of the tank will not lose the liquid.

if you break any block on the sides or top, nothing will happen

The middle block on the bottom stores the information on what's inside the tank. As long as you don't break that block you can remodel the tank however you want.
