Everytime I make a iron tank, I always have trouble with getting it to combine. I have done:

  1. Checked inside. Nothing there.
  2. 5x5 structure.
  3. All Corners are wall items. 1 Lower gauge on bottom level and 1 in top center.
  4. Have tried completely removing and remaking excluding middle block and still nothing.
  5. Disconnecting and reconnecting.
Any ideas?

I would try and move it somewhere else. Never really happened to me and I can't recreate it either to try and help.
If that doesn't work try and delete those blocks and make new ones. Might be the NBT data so, you might need some fresh spanking new iron tank walls. If THAT
fails I have no clue :D

iron blocks.

To confirm, Dravarden means iron tank walls, not iron blocks (mineral block, nine iron ingots). Or, if he does not, then that is the correct piece of data regarding the frame.

Personally, I dislike that I cannot make the frame out of iron tank gauge as that'd be nice and fancy. But at this point, we've got xycraft tanks, so why bother, eh?

Yeah! Lets make a lava tank out of wood! Hell ye!

Go for it. Considering that xycraft tanks have a magical xycraft tank powers which keep the interaction between the contents of the tanks and the material of the tanks, I'd say go whistle Dixie and dance a handstand of cupcakes over some snow tanks (ice tanks don't work, sadly) and have fun with it.

You DO know that this game is about "fun", right? ...Right?

Well, yeah! why should I make a 9x9x8 Iron tank that takes more than 4 stacks of iron to make (pretty easy to get, but not in the first day) when I can make a 12x12x12 snow tank that stores even more liquid and is super cheap? Super fun and totally not game breaking!

AH that is what it was. When I read description it said valve could be placed within first two levels, I assumed bottom was considered one of those.

Enderchests? Tesseracts? Being able to turn oil into fuel with a single block? Chests thank get bigger depending on what they're made of?

Totally game breaking.

that's different, storing 21296 biomass buckets in a 12x12x12 area made out of snow and some xychorium or store 10368 biomass buckets in a 9x9x8 tank that took 4+ stacks of iron has a difference. Why would somebody waste iron when you can make a cobblestone tank?

Good question. Why would you? If you ask me, railcraft made it harder than it needed to be in the first place. With the exception of lava, what's wrong with storing anything in a cobblestone tank? If you think about it we even store water in "dirt tanks" IRL! (reservoirs)

You do know that a BC tank outperforms a Xycraft tank, and takes much less space..

And for you 'hardcore whiners' out there, it's made out of renewable materials (*gaps!* the horror!)

well, of course, but it leaks and stuff... And not like minecraft has much sense, storing lava in an iron bucket in your pocket...

Anyway, what I mean is, why do we have 2 different types of tanks, when one is super expensive and one is super cheap... Is like enabling vanilla and gregtech recipes in MPS, or asking a poor person if he wants 300 kilos of steak or half a cookie...[DOUBLEPOST=1363471083][/DOUBLEPOST]

a buildcraft tank can store 8 buckets per tank, a xy can store 16 per airblock.

I can agree with that. But that's sort of inevitable when you're running multiple mods simultaneously. Just think about how many different power systems we have! Considering how crucial power generation and storage is to balancing and overall gameplay, having two or three different ways to store liquids really isn't that big of a deal. If the fact that one is easier than the other bugs you, simply don't use it; or disable the mod! Personally, I use both in my builds. :)

Buildcraft tanks store 16 per tank. Go into creative with one of those and a bucket of lava and try it for yourself: 16 right clicks to fill it completely.

Edit: for fun, I made a multiblock tank from BC tanks: the bottom layer is alternating rows of levers (switched on) and blocks. The layer above that is liquiducts set to powered mode. Above that are layers of BC tanks, and the top layer is liquiducts set to non-powered mode. Liquids can be input into the top layer and output from the lower liquiduct layer. A 12x12x12 tank will hold 20851.2 buckets, but you can scale it up as large as you would like, and the taller you make it the more efficient the space usage gets (and making it taller only takes glass).

Oh, I always thought it was 8.[DOUBLEPOST=1363472496][/DOUBLEPOST]

And that's why I disabled ekzwhyzedcraft

and there is factorization power, MJ, EU, bluetricity, laser energy (the new xycraft energy) and force energy (did I miss something?)
