How do you put items into a railcraft iron tank with a hopper? Or is there another device? I also want to take the end product out.

Ex: put in glass bottles and pull out enchanting bottles because of liquid xp. but i would like to just put the glass bottles into a barrel or chest and then collect the end result.

You cannot automate item insertion/extraction with Railcraft Iron tanks. This is by design. You'll have to pump whatever liquid into a machine that can fill your container of choice with whatever liquid you're trying to bottle.

If all else fails, a liquid turtle could probably do it assuming you have ComputerCraft and MiscPeripherals installed. Might need to set up an intermediary buildcraft tank for the turtle to interact with if you can't pump liquid into the turtle.

For me the easiest way is to just use TE liquid transposers. They can fill / empty pretty much any kind of liquid container. Just hook them up to the tank using a liquiduct.

It should be able to interact with the valve to fill its liquid storage. "Should" because I never tried it, but the valve block works just fine with any other liquid transfer mechanic that I've tried. In 1.6.2 they even auto-output if they are on the bottom of the tank and there's something below that can accept liquid.

Also to remove and put in the cans just use an ME Import Bus(to put them in) and an ME Export Bus(to take them out).
Also you'll need to config the Liquid Transposers.
Plus I used your method and thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Or an ME Interface ontop of the transposer and the proper Pattern in it, and you can fill items on demand.
