Why is this horrid horrid thing not disabled by default? Surely, SURELY the majority of players don't appreciate having their stuff moved around randomly?

You can disable some if not all of the auto organize things if memory serves, so they only happen when you hit a button

It's not random, just the default key is usually R (for some crazy reason), which totally fcuks you up when using NEI.
I personally reset the key to ¬ (next to 1) as it's out the way (for me)

You know we keep asking why about Y we are going to derail this thread and people will be asking us why we derailed a thread because of Y.

Yes. You did derail the thread. I set it to nothing so i only organise it with middle click.

I also mapped it to my middle mouse button.

Other times, I mapped it to Home instead.

Why go to the effort of moving the keybind to a different key so its not triggered accidentally, if you can just disable the mod entirely?

ps. Hitting Esc while binding keys binds them to "NONE" which is handy.

Because the mod has other handy features I would guess. The middle mouse thing is annoying though, only becasue it's also my push to talk button.

I remember disabling it once and got annoyed that one of the shifty click thingos didn't work. If only it's sorting rules didn't rely on a text file and instead had a built in GUI.
If you have been playing modded minecraft since it's inception InventoryTweaks is one of those thing that you just can't do without, and the funny thing is we don't know why.
At one point in Minecrafts development it acquired similar inventory management features so I don't really know what inventory features are vanilla or InvTweaks. All I know is that when I don't have it installed things feel really weird.

I wouldn't want it disabled at all. I like inventory tweaks a lot and constantly use its features.

I see that there are a number of you that are so damaged by it that you have come to be dependent on it. This is no reason to expose new players to Stockholm syndrome.

:p

Disable it if you dislike it. I do not like how you call us "dependent" and using Inventory Tweaks mean subjecting people to "Stockholm syndrome". I don't go around calling you a douchebag, do I?

Hey. I play vanilla more than modded. Invtweaks is juat faster than manually distributing everything through 12 double chests.

I am not dependent on inv. Tweaks at all since I play vanilla often, but if I can spend one second organizing a chest rather than two minutes, I will change one or two keys happily. Heck, most mods I use I spend like ten minutes rebinding keys when I start a world, but of course you can do whatever you like
