Wireless Redstone is only a solution, and not a build.

You could make a central command and control building where you can remotely monitor and control all your various automatic farms and storage facilities.

You could use it to signal the far end of a tcon bridge to extend.

The applications of wireless Redstone are only limited to the boss you employ and your imagination.

I'm using wireless redstone, a cursed earth drop spawner and mystcraft portals to move mobs where I need them(AM2, blood magic, liquid exp and mob essence).

Wireless redstone is the lazy solution for people who cant be bothered to run cables(yeah I use it too sometimes). I don't find it cool at all, but a fall back contingency for when cabling is simply just too inconvenient.
I do not really understand the desire to want to use wireless redstone. Would understand it better if the question was about cool redstone contraptions. How exactly the signal are being send from point a to b is not rather inconsequential.

If all you want to do is use wireless redstone, then put a lever at one end of your base and a lamp in another end and use wireless redstone to turn the lamp on and off.

Oh I dunno, sometimes I like to make POV shots of my TNT cannons, and for that I need a wireless transmitter and a chunkloader.

Of all the people on the forum, you are one of the few I would not expect to come down so hard on someone who wants to do the exact thing (the game and) mods are there for... Fun.

If you don't have anything useful or fun to contribute, why post?

[ontopic]
- Rube Goldberg machine could use wireless.
- Maybe, if you're a Redstone wizard you could use it to send a secret more-code/combination lock thingy to unlock a hidden passage
- Like DireWolf20, use it to activate a mining rig 10.000 blocks away
- I'll come up with more if I didn't had to go to the vet.

Sorry if it came of as "coming down hard" on anyone. Was merely trying to raise the point that I didn't really understand the question, and thereby point of the thread. The pretty much only function that Wireless redstone has is to wireless transfer redstone signals. And the only reason I can see for wanting to run redstone signals wireless is that cabling is inconvenient.

So that is it, isn't it? Use wireless redstone whenever you want to use redstone signals, but it is too far away/too hard to run cables? What more is there the debate?

Wireless Redstone is nothing more than an easy way of sending input from far away of it's receiver and making something trigger, in most cases; The actual logic behind the project you might wanna add it in is something completely different. You might want to think about things that would be useful to active far away from: Cobblegens, Explosives, Forcefields, etc.

I understand the question. It's the same fun asif you do the thing in one of the most popular series on right now yourself! (see above video) Why not post in a ruby goldberg machine thread to say they wasted their time? Because they like to show something they loved doing; and I love people doing what they like and help gather ideas for it.

Somehow it's just cool to see something happening at the flick of a wireless switch.

Each their own :D

Also, this right here is what I like to call: "Overeacting". Honestly, he only stated his personal opinion, there's no need to start drama over it; Okay? :p

All I meant by the question was of cool/interesting redstone contraptions and I find wireless redstone convenient over 'fun'
