Install mods

So, i downloaded the FTB launcher, after i pressed "Download server" on the Tech World 2 tab, i can't log in (don't know why, it keeps me saying that my password or username is wrong, i have a legit minecraft account) anyway, is there a way to install those mods without using the FTB launcher?

I want just to play it singleplayer for my serie on youtube!
 
Sometimes this happens to me. The way I fix it is by logging into Minecraft with the 1.5.2 launcher then going back to what ever other launcher I was trying to use. So try that.
 
Yea, Just install forge and get all the mods and put them in the mods folder. Then do the same with the server
 
Did you try to run it as a java program, Or did you not install it to the right dir
