Insanity Co-op?

I know that it's designed to be SSP, but me and my cousin are kinda new to all the mods (a couple months of Tekkit, and a few days of messing around on SMP FTB) I wanted to give either the insanity map or the regular map (probably regular ) a try while also learning some of the mods. I was wondering is there is a way to play those maps as Multiplayer Co-op.

TL;DR: Can the Maps be SMP?

In 1.2.5, which the current insanity map is for, smp mods were harder to make than ssp mods. There is a version of the map for smp that we are hoping to get out sometime.

you can use the embedded "open to lan" button and let your cousin join you.
If you dont live together you can use Hamachi to simulate an ethernet.

Lan didn't come out until after 1.2.5, so that wouldn't work. Thanks though
