Infusion altar help?

So the thaumcraft wiki isn't helpful... At. All.

So anyway, how do I get the aspects in the Infusion altar? These things:

Also, random question, what's needed to research the arcana pressure plate? Like the aspects needed

Put what in a crucible? Sorry, complete n00b to thaumcraft. I have a crucible though.

Nevermind, found that out. But what about the plates?

ok you look at the icons, in this case Instrumentum and something that i cant make out, then you look for items that have those aspects (they can be different) and dump em in the boiling crucible, finally go over to your altar and pick up your crafted item (the crucible is within 10 blocks of the altar right?)

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I have the same problem. I placed my wand and the shards in the Infusion Altar, and it tells me I need 16 Praecantitio (wand icon). I have a crucible set up 2 blocks away which I threw some vis shards into (6 Praecantitio each), but it's not crafting the new wand.

Edit:: Never mind, I didn't have a wand in the altar because it was being used in a recipe
