So I noticed Infinity received a new update, from 1.1.0 to 1.2.1, and several new mods had been added.

Which mods were these? Which mods got changed, updated or removed? The changelog isn't showing anything yet.

I would like to know this also!

I need to know if i should scrap my current game and start another one or if that is even needed.

Well scrapping your world wouldn't be nessecary, unless it's a whole different biome setting like Biome's O' Plenty.

Don't forget that world-gen features will always run in already-existing maps, as long as you render new chunks.

An orb or charm of dislocation could magnificently help in this, or getting into the Mystcraft worldgens.

Ahh thanks for the advice!. In the past i have gone into the world editor and simply deleted all the chunks that i generated except for the area i built but this isnt the best way because it tends to screw up the borders around the part that i dont "regenerate"

You can do this in Inifinity with no issues. The terrain generation wasn't changed at all between versions, they just added some mods like Thermal Dynamics, changed some configs. and updated a few of the existing mods to newer versions. I have been on 1.2.1 since it was released(not recommended) and I trimmed my world like you mentioned with MCEdit to see if the issue with emeralds not spawning was fixed. There are no noticeable boundaries where I pruned it. It regen'd exactly the same.

I believe the big change from 1.1 to 1.2 was adding Thermal Dynamics, although I could be wrong. Also, most mods updated versions to their latest when this update kicked in. Also Botania configs changed here to disallow shedding for a good number of mobs.

1.2.1 changed a few glaring glitches which allowed item duplication, infinite RF, and duplication of fluids. I'm sure other things happened in that bump too, but that was a huge fix.

The core mods didn't change, so world generation shouldn't be affected. Nothing that I know of will make your world explode if you update.
