Details of the issue:

Ok so, I have played Infinity right when it came out... Then stopped playing cause I go on spurts with gaming... Then I just got into Infinity again within the past 2 weeks or so and its Evolved which I like a lot. But im having this problem ive never had before and wondering if anyone knows how to fix it or can help me with the issue. I have like 70 FPS while playing. Then everytime I open my inventory it drops to 15-25 because it has to load all the items on the right hand side... I search something in the search box takes like 20 seconds to come up cause my game freezes... Thats problem #1... This 1 is very annoying and causes me to die way to often where it actually makes me rage quit after the first death cause its such bull crap...But I hit something and everytime I slap something with my sword my games has a giant lag spike. Ive died about 90% fighting creepers. and if theres any way to fix these issues plz tell me how! I have an 8 gig computer. If that matters with anything.​

I'm having similar FPS lag on occasion when try to play this mod pack. I have a pretty decent computer, and I'm running Minecraft on reasonable settings I think, but on occasion my FPS frops from 55-60 avg. to 10-15 avg. and will stay like this for several minutes. It isn't happening at any sort of regular occurance so I'm having trouble tracking down what the cause might be. Any one have ideas for a fix?
Sorry i can't say anything for a fix, but I came to make a similar post, but saw yours so I thought it would be better to add to yours than make a new post.

So, after attempting to fix this issue, I can to no solution. I tried disabled a few resource heavy mods such as Journey Map, i tried using optifine, with and without fastcraft. I tried tweaking my settings to stupidly low, but nothing fixed my problem. Oddly enough, switching to the minecraft curse client launcher has fixed it. I downloaded Inifinity from there, and copied over my save and config files. Didn't change anything else, and i'm getting 100% stable FPS. weird
