Hi, first off apologies if this is in the wrong section, i think general is the correct one for it.

i run an infinity 1.7 server and id like to disable All forms of flight (angel rings, jetpacks, etc) in other dimensions (primarily the nether and runic dungeons) is there a way to do this within the configs of the mods, if so where should i be looking to find it?, if not does anyone know of a plugin or server side mod i could use to achieve this effect?

another thing id like to do is reduce the damage mitigation on things like Vampire and Draconic armour (factions/pvp/raiding server) if its possible to change this server side and not need a custom pack or for people who wanna connect to download anything extra

many thanks to any who can help me with either of these

Flight:
I believe it's either on or off, disabling the items (crafting, or the item itself) is probably the best way to prevent flight.

Armour:
Unless the mods have a damage reduction multiplier (or similar) in the configs, no, there'd be no way to stop them other than disabling the (crafting of the) item(s)

If you were to disable all flying items entirely, that wouldn't solve his problem, because he mentioned he needed to disable flying in OTHER dimensions. If you disabled the crafting recipe, you wouldn't be able to fly in the over world at all. (/gamemode 1 FTW :p)

Exactly, you can't disable it specific to dimensions. You have have flight, or you don't

I have plans for a dimlet with rftools that prevents flight in rftools dimensions but of course that would be restricted to rftools dimensions then.

I was actually thinking of perhaps using @McJty 's environmental controller from RFTools and having a flying module inside it. That solves the flying, I THINK. :p
Edit: wait, that means if you want overworld "no limit" flight, you have to have environmental controllers EVERYWHERE.

I know that Thaumcraft's Outer Lands will also prevent flight (when you try to fly, you fall after about a second). However, I don't know if there's a mod that does this with any dimensions that you specify.

I think there's a mod that can blacklist items in whichever dimensions that you specify, but I don't remember what it is called. So you could blacklist all the flight items in any non-Overworld dimension (although then any items that give flight AND other effects would have to be disabled completely).

As for nerfing armour, I don't know of anything that can do that without reverse engineering the applicable mods. Just blacklist the items from being made if they're too powerful.

Finally, if you're running a PvP faction server, consider using Trident as your pack, as Trident is designed for exactly that. I haven't looked at that pack myself, though, and it might not have some of the mods that you may want.
