Just started playing it, played it for 2 days and only on the 3rd day (irl) got to mine iron. I learned for a long time, when i got the hang of making stuff, a infernal mob (i think it was called ''Smashing baby zombie... YOINK!'') and took my pickaxe (lvl 4, i think it was) and then died on my sugar cane trap while i was too weak to fight it.... didnt drop my pickaxe. And now im starting over...
So... any tips on those ******g infernal mobs that want to make me rage quit?

Unless you feel like removing the mod, Infernal mobs are a way of life in MF2, and everyone hates them. Hell I started a thread on the premise that people would want to discuss their rage here due to me being overwhelmed by infernal silverfish. Even when you are decked out in enchanted diamond armor, they are still a major threat.

Anyhow, there is no real way to get rid of them other than the normal way of fighting them, as they are normal mobs with enhanced abilities. I suggest trying to kill them at range.

Doesnt the ability where they take out items from your hand NOT pick them up, but rather drop them?
Or was that only earlier versions?

TBH, you really need to adjust the configs, some of the abilities are just "OP" or "unfair"

Here's what I use in my Omega Dawn pack+server.

B:"MM_1UP enabled"=true
B:"MM_Alchemist enabled"=true
B:"MM_Berserk enabled"=true
B:"MM_Blastoff enabled"=false
B:"MM_Bulwark enabled"=true
B:"MM_Cloaking enabled"=true
B:"MM_Darkness enabled"=true
B:"MM_Ender enabled"=true
B:"MM_Exhaust enabled"=true
B:"MM_Fiery enabled"=true
B:"MM_Ghastly enabled"=true
B:"MM_Gravity enabled"=true
B:"MM_Lifesteal enabled"=true
B:"MM_Ninja enabled"=false
B:"MM_Poisonous enabled"=true
B:"MM_Quicksand enabled"=true
B:"MM_Regen enabled"=true
B:"MM_Rust enabled"=true
B:"MM_Sapper enabled"=false
B:"MM_Sprint enabled"=true
B:"MM_Sticky enabled"=false
B:"MM_Storm enabled"=false
B:"MM_Vengeance enabled"=true
B:"MM_Weakness enabled"=true
B:"MM_Webber enabled"=true
B:"MM_Wither enabled"=true

We have Zombie Awareness too, so have to adjust the Infernal chances:

# One in THIS many Mobs will become atleast rare
I:eliteRarity=50

# One in THIS many already ultra Mobs will become infernal
I:infernoRarity=50

# One in THIS many already rare Mobs will become atleast ultra
I:ultraRarity=50

This gives added challenge, without being overwhelming.
