Greetings all who care to read,
I am in search of some guidance as to a flavor of linux that I can use that might allow the best optimization for my craptop until I am able to replace it.
Here are a few specs to help out, yes it is a craptop and i am lucky to just be able to run and play FTB on it and I plan to replace with a desktop, but here goes for now...
AMD E-350 Processor 1.60 GHz (yes I know, I cried to when I found out, it was supposed to be faster) 2 physical cores it seems (maybe wrong there)
4.00 GB RAM
64-bit capabilities (with 64-bit Winblows current OS)
Probably the saving grace that allows me to run the client on a winblows OS is a 160GB Solid State Drive.
ANY advice would be greatly appreciated as I have tried lowering settings, removing texture packs, and trying different flavors of Linux with little success. I am fairly sure it's client side because the server works fine with other clients for the time, and I have tried the advanced JVM arguements with some moderate success, but is starting to slow down as well.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice or guidance.
