Hi,
I'm having an issue with JourneyMap. Today, I've updated JM from to 5.1.1b8 to 5.1.1 alongside with EnderIO and Endercore. And quite soon after I got into map I started to having issues.

Games lags / stutters for ~1 second every 40~50 seconds.

I had this issue about month/two ago when I updated JM from 5.1.1b8 to 5.1.1rc1 but it disappeared after I reverted back to b8. Now it still persist after going back from older version. Reverted Forge from 1558 to 1448, still persist. Reverted EnderIO and Endercore to older version, still persist. Deleting configs and color palette didn't nothing either. And I forgot to backup the map, so good job me. However, it may / seems to be related to mapping because after disabling it, there is no more lag. I've been literally walking in circles in one chunk and counting the time between lags. It was 40~50 seconds. With disabled mapping I could walk atleast two minutes straight without any lag. I don't know what happened, but after today update something broke and it's still broken after reverting back to older version.

I have another issues with the JM: (not that serious as above)
1. Map created by automapping looks odd. (5.1.1)
- however, it'll fix itself after going in that area (or create map with 5.1.1b8 automap)
http://imgur.com/a/jZB9b
(top picture is from 5.1.1b8 and bottom is 5.1.1)
2. I cannot precisely modify the setting using arrow key (5.1.1 and 5.1.1b8)
- because it will do it for different option, so I want to set cache for villagers, I have cursor in that bar but pushing arrow key sets the value for completely different opting (mobs...)
3. Disable mapping also disables waypoints
- if I disable mapping, the waypoints stays until I leave the map or exit the game. The next time I get into map /game, there are no waypoints unless I enable mapping

EDIT: after calming down a little I removed (hopefully all) saltness / trash talk from this post. It was a really bad idea to word it that way. I apologize for that.

If you want to try diagnosing whether your issue really lies with JourneyMap, I suggest opening up the web chat here on the FTB forums and joining #JourneyMap and politely asking Techbrew, the author of JourneyMap, if he can help you with your mapping problems. Just because JourneyMap appears to lag doesn't automatically mean it is the cause of lag, other more serious causes of lag may be hidden in what your other mods are attempting to do at the same time as JourneyMap is running. It sounds to me like you may have a problem with some mod that only manifests itself when JourneyMap is running, they might be willing to help out if you're careful and don't trash talk.

There are other people who regularly hang out in #JourneyMap, and some of them are programmers or beta testers themselves, often for other mods, some do testing for Techbrew, if he's not around they also might be willing to help out, again if you're careful with your words and don't trash talk.

Techbrew has done amazing work with the inner workings of JourneyMap, and if you can uncover an issue report for him, and properly report it, you might even be credited in the release notes for finding it so he can fix it, although that's completely up to Techbrew.

Cheers ...

Just a little info. What Java version you have, how much memory you have assigned to the java process, how much free memory you have when you are running the pack and how much memory is the pack actually using(this one, press F3, top right corner. It should say how much is actually allocated and from that how much is using)
I ask this because you say that without jorneymap you still have lag just not so frequently. That seems like a memory and GC related issue that JM is just aggravating...

I actually didn't thought about that. I mean thats possible too.

Just a little info. What Java version you have, how much memory you have assigned to the java process, how much free memory you have when you are running the pack and how much memory is the pack actually using

System:
Intel I5 760 (4C, no HT, 2.80Ghz, stock clock)
12GB ram (1333Hz, stock clock)
AMD 6870 (1Gb, stock clock)
Windows 7 64bit
2 physical HDD (SATA2, 1st for windows, 2nd for data - minecraft is also located/run from there)
3 monitors in vertical Eyefinity setup (3240x1920)
build about 5 years ago

Java 8 (64 bit, update 51), using MultiMC, memory allocation - min 512mb max 4096mb, PermGen 512mb,
Java parameters: -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=50
Default/Explicit GC is still on.

Forge (before, with 5.1.1b8): forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1448
Forge (after, with 5.1.1): forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1558

Memory usage:
used: between 26 to 36~40%
allocated: 36% (at start), up to 46~48% (normally)
Memory usage is pretty stable, doesn't seem to go past that unless I'm traveling between dimension or forcing to generate new chunks very quickly.

Pack: "custom", DW20 1.2.1 used as a base, modified to my liking, since then, all mods have been updated and are more-less up to date

Using Fastcraft 1.21, no Optifine or FPSplus.

Game settings
Fast settings, Full smooth lightning, no AA, Mipmaps set to 1, no Vsync, 16 chunks render,

I ask this because you say that without jorneymap you still have lag just not so frequently.
There is a bit of a lag from un/loading chunks and if I'm close to "too many tile entities" (i.e. wall with 8 molecular assemblers with 4 interfaces on them, mekanism solar evaporation towers...).
So, if I'm next to my AE autocrafting (that wall of molecular assemblers) and start backing up and placing blocks, it stutters. But in other places where is literally nothing or not that many stuff, there is little to "no" lag.
