Hello everyone.

I was always watching "let's play" since i discovered the enjoyement of playing minecraft's modpack and it helped me to learn alot and alot of thing faster than i would do alone.

Unfortunatly i'm now deaf since september and now when i watch a "let's play" and the only thing i see is people staying and speaking again and again, so i have nothing against that but you would understand that for deaf people it's hard to enjoy a video where we see most of time the player doing nothing because we understand he is explaining alot of thing.

So i decided to ask here for it.

What i'm looking for is a let's play that i can enjoy by being deaf but to help you to understand i will give you some example :
- Subitle (unfortunatly youtube sub are really bad and a real subbed serie really help)
- Players not staying stationary so even if there is no sub i can watch and just understand by watching
- Organized let's play where the player dont rush everything because he is chaining recording his episode but take the time to organise everything before the episode so it's clear to understand even without sound.
- Players who take time to show what he is doing

Here we go, i hope somebody will have the answer to this because since i'm watching without sound i enjoy it less and it make me sad because it also make me less enjoy minecraft wich is my Top 1 game ever.

Also sorry if my english is not perfect, i'm doing my best.

Thanks in advance :)

Not sure if your able to lip read through video but if you can you might want to try http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Minecraft
The community there is very helpful and if you see something you don't understand i am sure people will help.
Since its live you can watch and ask as you see something your not familiar with.
Any streamers from the Build Guild are really helpful and seem to have very helpful non spammy chat

Can't really help, but I just want to say I feel bad for you. If I ever make a letsplay fpr any reason, I will attempt to help deaf people.

Hey mbbkraft!

First off, I wanted to say that I'm incredibly sorry for your lose of hearing, I truly couldn't fathom that lose and hope you have been able to cope. With that being said, I have just started a YouTube series called "Nintendo the History" and this series will be completely subbed for viewers like you. I intend to go through my Let's Plays and videos and make them all subbed. So I hope that you can get some quality entertainment out of them.

I seem to remember hearing that closed captions were coming to minecraft in a future update. I haven't seen anything on it recently though. I did a quick look up and all I could find were mod references.

I would highly recommend twitch as well. Reading the slower chats will help you understand what you aren't hearing a little better.

As far as youtube I can't think of to many letsplay artists that don't rely highly on talking to keep the crown interested in there product.

I think direwolf20 might be one. He might even be funnier if you can't hear him at times. Not for sure.

HaighyorkieChilled 's series of "Toff and Shed" are another possibility. Though what they say is extremely funny, what they do could possibly stand on its own.

In my experience Mumbo Jumbo never really says anything that one really needs to hear. It is usually just him repeating what is happening on the screen.

I thought I had a lot more subscriptions to Minecraft Channels on youtube. Looks like I must have deleted most of them. Did notice one channel among my current subscriptions that really does stand on its own without audio though. CorridorDigital rarely if ever has talking even in it and what little audio it has is never needed to understand the video. To bad they don't do lets plays. Still might be worth a look though?

Hope you find something good out of all those.

It largely depends on what you're using right now. I can follow the audio pretty well through my implant, but from experience with hearing aids it's hit or miss.

Just found this video in my queu. Thought it was of interest. Though not fully on topic.

Subtitles are coming to minecraft!!!
Not nearly as good news to me as the villager resource pack. Still, I'm sure there is someone out there that will like the feature.

Video is by docm77 . I haven't watched any but the first few seconds.

Hey everyone.
I'm not sure if this topic is dead or not, but I have a Let's Play channel that's pretty deaf-friendly.
My commentary isn't recorded, it's actually pop-up style, if you remember VH1's pop-up music videos? It's words, that show up on the screen essentially.

I play mostly indie, horror, adventure, and obscure games. I like quirky stuff, and weird stuff :D It's not for kids, though. Sorry, but I am an adult and I am making it for adults.

I can't post links because I haven't been a member that long, but if you search "Lumps Plays" you'll find me!
