I assume this is an April Fools, but my portal gun (bacon gun) has now become a pig, and the portals it fires are reversed on the left and right mouse clicks.... and so I now begin the long walk home....

Damnit, I didn't even think about april fool's... My portal gun didn't turn into a pig but the left and right mouse clicks got reversed too, and I was several thousand blocks from home. I thought my config file got messed up or something.

You know I really like those portal frames more then the gun itself. I guess I'm just odd like that.

Create a bunch of random Mystcraft ages (no pages required) and explore the ones where the instability isn't too severe. Then keep an eye out for TC3 dungeons. My brother and I managed to find three default portal guns (two of which we dyed) and a potato gun in a single evening of exploring.Guess who hasn't managed to craft or find a portal gun in FTB yet
(Note that we were flying to save time, and may have been extra lucky even then. But it can be done!!)
I know it can be done, I just haven't tried yet (actually I have hardly explored yet in my latest world.)
Well frame is missleading. Portal spawner I think is correct term. A permanent, but re'placable fixed portal that can be activated with a redstone signal.
Most often used to good effect with a wireless remote.
A great use is to have one of these in your base hooked up to a wirless reciever. Then anywhere in the world you use your portal gun to place a single portal. Click the wireless remote and you have an open portal back home to base.
X2 of these can be linked as well for a permanent portal. ie: between two bases for example...
Also great for sending things like trains through portals etc.

Oh that's awesome, thanks for the info. Never noticed this before... (so many mods, so little time...). Then again, I've only recently found my first ever portal gun in a chest. It certainly is a game-changer.
And another point you actually don't need to guns for the portal spawner to work. And building the recipe yields two spawners. Still requires a neither star to make but eh I still find more use with the spawners then the gun themselves.
To elaborate, it's just like in the first couple of levels of Portal before you get your own Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device.
