IC2x Scanner - Why does it not work with other mods?

We're using FTB: Infinity Evolved's most current version. We just finished creating a Replicator set-up, and we ran into trouble with the Scanner.

I've read about item's such as ME Drives, being replicated, but we cannot seem to get the Scanner to accept them as a blueprint.

Just wondering if this is a limitation of the pack, - is it able to be changed in config (Couldn't find any mention in IC2 except for "uu-matter recipes" - or can you just plain not do it?

I think non-fiction items have to be put In to the replicator config to be scannable/replicatable. It's not just a power hungry dup system. I'm not failure enough with infinity to know if their lack of inclusion is deliberate or a lack of custom configuration to add non-invasive items.

There are definitely things that can be added in 1.10, as Age of Engineering does a fair bit of that; it must be possible, but as you said it it has to be added custom, and presumably has been left out intentionally.
