the weird grass-water combination is a known bug with extrabiomesXL,
Huh. I thought it was just buggy Marshes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yep, either something's wrong, or you installed another mod. Perhaps Custom Ore Generation? That mod modifies ore generation, and I've seen Redstone at ground level with it.
Yes in fact I did, I wanted to get rid of RP2 gems because they make gregtech too easy. But I didn't know it modifies things by default. All I wanted was default ore generation with mindcrack, minus RP2 gems because elo can't bother to make a config to disable generation of her stuff. Do you know if that is possible with custom ore generation?
Ah, that would be why, then. To get the standard ore generation algorithms, you have to set everything (other than RP2 Gems, of course) to "Clusters" (or maybe "StandardGen," haven't played in a short time so I can't remember what it's called.) (Well, this is basically the standard oregen algorithms.)
Do you know if gregtech gems will generate if I turn off the RP2 ones? I have the gregtech ones on and they were on in the last one but I never saw any and I think its because they were replaced by RP2 ones. So, now I should just see gregtech gems?
I think you just didn't see them cos they're really rare. They should generate unless you disable them in the configs.
No, I played a few months on the last map. My quarries never found any either and I had 4 64x quarries running at any given time for weeks
Huh. Did you ever put them in Desert or Ocean biomes? Rubies are only supposed to generate in Deserts, and Sapphires are only supposed to generate in Oceans.
Ah, something else I just thought of. Perhaps you just didn't notice them, I seem to vaguely remember mining up a GT Ruby Ore and it gave me a RP Ruby.
That could be what it is-only getting RP2 rubies from Gtech ores. Any clue what Gtech ruby ore looks like? Google failed me.
Noted. To set this up in a server, One would download the mod but then what? There is no GUI for generating a map for a server and the configs are extremely elaborate and confusing
