In addition to what Willibilly19 said, you not only need to make sure that 64 bit Java is installed, but that it has been installed last otherwise your computer will use 32 bit Java. I don't believe the FTB launcher supports changing the version of Java you use, so you may have to play around with the environmental variables.

Maybe you need more RAM.
No, he does not need more RAM. His computer has 16GB of RAM, which is more than most anyone needs in his day and age. The issue is as Willibilly19 described almost certainly.

Would you be able to provide me with a link to the latest 64 bit java? Im having a hard time finding it

This should be the stuff: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html

Sixty-four bit is referenced as "x64". Just pick your OS and you are good to go. You may also want to install the x86 (32 bit) version FIRST, and then the 64 bit version so both are up to date, and the 64 bit has the proper files set up to be used. Good luck.

before you install them though, make sure to remove any other installations of Java. To do so, just go into the control panel and the Programs button.

I haven't found this to be required, but it is a good practice to get into as it will save you trouble every now and again, and the amount of time taken up doing an uninstall isn't too bad.
