waiting until its done, thats one of the reasons that I don't think it is causing it. You could also remove the mod but again, I don't think that it causes the problem

Leave the game running for about an hour.

I had the same exact thing happen to me yesterday. I was running Infinity for about an hour just fine then all of a sudden the frame rate dropped to the single digits and the game kept freezing. I talked with one of the pack devs who said it was Mystcraft doing its profiling. I removed Mystcraft (because I don't need it on a test world) and my game's performance returned to normal. I would be very surprised if it wasn't this.
