What he said, making your own pack is near as easy as using ftb, or if you like wait until the hard mod server that I am beta testing with the admin goes live on the launcher, but be warned its not a tec pack its a anti-OP pack.

I actually am putting together a pack for 1.5.2 and most of the mods are updated and work together nicely. All of them are updated for 1.5.1. It is a private pack, so I can't distribute it. But I could post up the complete list if you would like. So far I have only encountered 2 or 3 ID conflicts which have all been easy to solve. I could probably post the configs for them too.

if you have to ask that question, you really shouldn't be trying to admin a server in the first place.

basically, though, i think this is a decent guide: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/95938/modding-a-minecraft-server-from-scratch

it outlines installing a vanilla server from scratch, then installing forge, and from there it's just installing your mods and playing with your configs.

I've submitted a 1.5.1 mod pack to the appropriate individuals, but it's a very minimalist mod pack and doesn't possess the mods you are likely looking for. It does contain Tinker's Construct, but not Ars Magika, for example.
