this is a problem trying to use a 1.6 server with java 8 as I recall there is a legacy java fixer mod that should solve your problem just google it

Make sure you're on Java 7 for your machine. I'd reset the server files and try again as well.

Use java 8 and if needed add legacyjavafixer mod (works both on server and on client).
