Hello all of the FTB/Minecraft world!
My name is Matt. I am 26, turning 27 this year. Was in the US Army for 7 years as a Commo specialist (Large communication towers, cables, wires, networking, radios, etc.), and got out due to the request of my wife. Now, she's IN the military, while I sit at home. Go figure, lol. I was deployed twice. Kosovo in 06 - Jan 08 and to Iraq Jan - August 2010. I've been all over, and I'm happy just sitting home Now, I own my own home, 5 dogs, married to a lovely woman (Been together for 7 years now, married October 2011), own 2 cars, and just perfectly happy! Now, off to gaming.
At this moment, I've been hosing a server for the past 2 years! In MC that's too long. I started playing February 2011. It's funny, my wife actually got me into it. Once I started, there was no turning back. Just about every day since that day, I've played. The server I hosted was just me, my wife, my brother, and 1 of my bestestestest friends. Well, after 2 months, that map crashed... then another 1 was made. It was a good thing too... It was our first homes. Needless to say... Cobblestone heaven, lol (It was 1.4 Beta come on!) Then over 4 months, 2 more maps crashed. That was heart crushing. Our 4th map was THE best though. I took the most pride in the home I made there (I'll put up a vid about it). The world corrupted when the transformer outside blew up. Talk about upset... I was able to recover it... 6 months later. (May 26th 2011... I got it back near November. Still got the saves too.). On that 5th map, we had up to 40 members! Sadly, I lost ALL my support from my friends, my brother and wife to keep hosting, and I gave up. Here's the link to the retired post. But, I didn't quit completely. I got tired of stupid, and started getting rid of people that complained (I.E. "Creepers suck!", "There's no /back?!?!", "Why's the server set to hard", "It's your job to do this", ETC). Then I learned about FTB. Now, we have about 17 members that play off and on. Mainly RL Friends and family. I moved some of our best creations via Vanilla Minecraft to the server (Mainly spawn, and our maze.) We have a few outsiders, but not many. I try not to recruit every peep I see, but I do recruit. Me and 3 of my friends, and my bro play the most. We have a blast, and that's just fine. I've had a big server at one point, and I don't want to deal with that agian... And truth be told, it's kind of pushy to make everyone happy (Before I quit, I was one that listen to everyone, and made everyone happy. It worked for almost a year... Until... PM me for more details). Shavercraft had a good run, but I put it behind me. We own a FTB server now, and I'm more happy now that 100 bazillion kids / emotional adults don't play on it anymore Trying to get everyone to stay stable on the website, keep up to date on news, Make sure they don't build 50 homes over 1000 block span with no intention of going back, kinda made me tired. Sorry for the soaps!!!
I look forward to saying hello to as many of you as I can! I love talking, hanging out, and I love minecraft. See ya around! Have a wonderful day, week, month, year, etc etc etc.
