and if it's in the wrong place, can a Moderator move it? I want to know if anyone can create a mod to chop all the trees in FTB in one shot like Timbre and Treecapitator. I tried them, but Timbre wouldn't chop down the huge trees and rubber trees and Treecapitator crashed the game.

Sorry in advance if I posted this in the wrong spot.

Without seeing your Treecapitator logs (groan, pun not intended), it's hard to tell why it didn't work and if there's anything that can be done for it. I had it running just fine on my most recent "custom blend" modded server, so it does behave with other mods, but I'm not going to test it with my FTB server because part of the whole point of running FTB for me is to not have to dink around with telling people to download/install things.

You'll never see this kind of mod added to the FTB pack itself, though, because slowpoke's been pretty vociferous about how he considers them (a) overpowered (b) supplanting the functionality of other mods (e.g. in particular with Thaumcraft and RedPower2, which aren't currently included, and where you have the Thaumcraft Axe of the Stream to chop the wood and the RP2 sickle to mass clear the leaves).

Ah, so it's overpowered. Which ruins the fun of Minecraft. Thanks for clearing that up. One more question though: I mined an Iron Ore block with a Wooden Pick-axe and it just disappeared. Is that normal and if so, what tool do I need to mine it?

Normal vanilla, you need a stone pickaxe or better. I hope that would answer your question.

One more question: is it correct to assume that the tabs in the Edit Mods section (Mods, JarMods, CoreMods) are for installing non-minecraft.jar mods, things that go into the minecraft.jar file and things that effect Forge and FTB respectively?

Mods are for most standard mods that are forge-compatible.

CoreMods are for some specialized mods that are forge-compatible (e.g. CodeChickenCore & NEI go here). You'll get told to put it here if it needs to go here.

JarMods are for mods that need to go in the minecraft .jar itself. Most popular one of these you'll see is Optifine, but there are a couple others. These have the most risk of causing conflict issues and flat out breaking things because there's a possibility of them overwriting code that forge also needs to alter.
