Problem I could run Tekkit quite well but why does Minecrack make my FPS unbearable

I have a Pentium Dual Core Processor, 3gb RAM and a 32 bit operating system.
I have installed Opdefine and lowered all my settings as low as they go, but i still get terrible lag and huge lag spikes when i place big machines like a Big sized quarry. Can anyone help me. ( I am on a laptop mind you)
