I can cheat the items in ssp with NEI :/ (mindcrack)

so I can simply click a block and it gives it to me,even with being in survival mode,world cheats are off,how can I turn it off? (i don't want to uninstall the mod,because i need the recipes)
it says the version of minecraft is 1.4.6

Make sure its set to recipe mode in game (options tabs at the top), or press 'R' when mousing over an item.
