I am moving very slowly! (As if I'm on soul sand.)

Problem: I cannot move fast, even while running. However, jump makes me go at normal speed.

Situation: I died while fighting a few mobs. After, I found that I couldn't move at normal speeds, even while sprinting! I put everything in my inventory away, and tried killing myself a few times to reset. This had no effect. Then I tried running on ice, running on soul sand, and giving myself slowness from a potion. All had no effect. Then I went into the controls, and tried looking for a button that would have toggled this status. I didn't find one.

this may be a problem with your physical keyboard. If you are anything like me, it may have crumbs in it that are jamming a key down, or it may just be a stuck key. In any case, my guess is that your shift key is stuck down on your keyboard. Try using a different keyboard, or just disconnect it altogether and reconnect it. If it is wireless, you may want to change the batteries.

I did that and it makes it look like you are lagging like crazy.
