I have been using a spreadsheet for my journal so far. It is working all right. It is far from ideal though. Is there any software that would be good for journalling anyone would recommend?
It must run in Windows 10 at the least. I would prefer for it to be free though I would be willing to consider paying for a solution if the features and license were extremely compelling. The biggest thing I am looking for are the features. How flexible is it with different journal data and setups. Being portable or at least easy to backup and restore would be a big bonus.
I have looked up wiki software. I haven't really found a good solution though. Most wiki software I found was meant to be used on a PC dedicated completely to it. I haven't really learned much about editing wikis and forgot most of that. The learning curve is a big hindrance when added to not knowing if the software can even do what I want.
I was thinking of looking up forum software. Most the sites I have posted on since I started using the internet were forums. I like the way forums work and I think one would work great as a personal journal solution. I am used to there interfaces. Not setting up the software for one though. Doesn't help I am thinking the forum software options might have the same limitations as the wiki software.
I don't really want to dedicate a entire PC to either. Even though it might be possible. I guess. If I put back together one of my old PCa and found a distribution of Linux that would run on them. Could figure out to run Linux, and use the software I wanted to install.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Edit 001:
Features I have liked that would work well:
Tables
Collapsible Spoilers
Calendars
My journal isn't so much a written text as it is a collection of data. Mostly numbers.
