I'd like to hear your guy's ideas.

You don't have to worry about "making" dirt. I know plant balls were nerfed. I was just wondering if any of you guys have strategies to manage multiple arboretums humus count.

I know multi-farms/MFR > arboretums, but meh. If it really comes down to it, I'll go MFR. I still have a few ideas and would like to hear what you guys have in mind as well ^^.

Arboretums are "Obsolete Content". So its not so much about multifarms being better than the old system, its that at any moment the old content will disappear or become non-functional. Sengir has stated this on multiple occasions.

If MFR is you're only choice outside of the multi-farms, then go ahead and use them. I personally would recommend MFR anyways.

Or golems! ;)

Hate mining just to run farms but love the mulitfarms? Now you can with Plugins for Forestry! It's have a recipe to swap out MFR fertilizer for the nonrenewable Forestry fertilizer. Finally I'll actually use those farms now since I hated them from the start. Makes no senses that it's nonrenewable one option only. It's should really take some form of renewable fertilizer like compost and/or mulch and make it not last as long so mined appetites still have an advantage.

How much power do multifarms need?

It has to be self sufficient, cause I was stupid in the way I designed my base. Aesthetics man, architectural aesthetics. Ruination of engineering efficiency.

Like 2mj/t or something for a medium sized one but idk how much they really suck in. Do a test run in creative if you really want to.

Hmm, that's easy then. Electrical engine run off of the wood produced from the farm should be enough.

Do most people go saplings for biomass? I was thinking later of doing seed oil and crap. For now I'm using water.

Actually a bioreactor beat fermenters+still. 4 saplings in a bioreactor net 320mb of biofuel or a still with 4 saplings of mass is only 300mb of ethanol. Use the reactor and pump the bio to a biogenerator to output just the right mj/t needed for the farm via conduits. It's works just like GT or a geothermal generator, that'll only consume bio when there power needed.

They've been removed since 1.5 came out - they're not "going to be removed", they have been removed.

So.. Does this mean I no longer worry about biomass? I just directly create biofuel?

Are loggers also obsolete? I have a lot of changing to do, mother f---

Yep and yep.. All old farms are gone but hey free biofuel gotta be pretty cool! (one bioreactor can do 2 HPs at full size and heat since every one only need 0.5mb per tick at full heat)

Does humas still turn to bog earth naturally (or is it the bog earth> humas? You know what I mean)? If so you can have another workaround using blockbreakers, turtles, or buildcraft filters.

Well I had two ideas:

1. Computer timer, since I've gone through so many cycles. I know about how much humus should be outputted in a given time interval. Using an AE system to make sure I have x amount of humus created at all times.

2. Use the AE system to count the number of sand that comes through. A simpler solution might be to send out one humus per sand, but I'd like a more robust system since my tree farms are not connected in series and I'd like to have a centralized system in terms of item/power organization for them. (i.e. send out 64 when 64 sand is counted.)
