Huge Lag Spikes

I play FTB (Mindcrack Pack) and it runs smoothly. About 5 - 10 minutes into playing, the game just freezes and the frame moves about once every five seconds, so I have to close and relaunch every time.

My computer does not have bad specs and is more than capable of running FTB (I have run it previously with no trouble).

Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it?

are you near a redwood forest? those can cause memory problems on some computers.

I don't think my specs are the problem because I've played FTB on this computer before with no trouble at all, ~100 FPS

I've tried generating a few different worlds, doesn't matter where I am, it freezes after a while.

That happens to me too i use Direwolf20. i have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M and i run Windows 8. Maybe it is a problem with windows 8?
