How to update an existing Direwolf20 server?

Hi, I currently have a Direwolf20 1.0.14 server running with an existing world. Is it possible to update this to 1.0.16 and continue using the existing world? If so how would I go about doing that?

I tried downloading 1.0.16 and copying the existing 'World' folder to the new server installation but it would start up so I assume I'm doing something wrong and not following the correct process.

Edit.. guess I should read the crash log before posting.. I had mispelt the server ip in the properties file :/
