Hello forums! This is my first post.

I am currently using FTB Ultimate v1.1.2

I'm finding it impossible to sort re-usable safari nets once I have captured a mob, even when the mob is identical to mobs in other nets.

I've tried the RP sorting machine, AE export buses, barrels, routers, and buildcraft diamond pipes with no success.

Any suggestions?

Do you mean separating filled nets from empty ones? Have you tried using TE itemducts, with a filter set to white/blacklist the empty nets and with "ignore NBT data" turned off? That ought to do it.

If you mean sorting filled nets that contain the same mob type (eg. separating creepers from zombies), that's going to be harder. About the only thing that I think might work is ComputerCraft with some addon that lets you read the internal NBT data (I think OpenPeripherals will let you do that).

I mean separating sheep safari nets from pig ones, for example.

EDIT: Also v1.1.2 of FTB Ultimate does not have itemducts.

The problem is that there's too much data variation between individual mobs, even of the same type. Most of the basic sorting mechanisms will treat items as different if ANY part of the NBT data is different (or will ignore the NBT entirely). Neither of that is what you want.

Your only hope is to intelligently compare a specific subset of the NBT data. The only thing I can think of that can do that is ComputerCraft.

Thanks for the reply. I'll dig a bit further into computer craft and post again if there's any progress.

Itemducts from thermal expansion should do the trick, but it has to be the exact same entity (exact mode in the mfr spawner)

I use Applied Energistics fuzzy export busses, but I guess the fuzzy versions weren't in Ultimate, correct? That's the problem then? Hmmm. Don't think the new itemducts were in Ultimate either (1.4.7?) Trying to recall my time in Ultimate, don't think I did any sorting that required metadata or NBT stuff... I kept all my safari nets in a chest next to the autospawner and I used Factorization router and some other oddball machines with pneumatic tubes to automatically insert and retrieve the safari net. But I inserted them into the sending machine by hand, so that meant I never had to sort them.

That's why I included the 3 in there. I know Ultimate had TE, but I'm pretty sure ItemDucts are a 1.6 thing.

Many suggested ItemDucts, but OP says he's playing Ultimate 1.1.2
