what is the easiest way to process a Quarries yield? In Tekkit, there was few enough stuff that I could just use a sorting machine and painted pneumatic tubes. But with as much stuff that can be dug up in FTB, I'm not sure how practical that would be.

You could always go with that, but personally I'd suggest running everything through basic seperation by type, using diamond pipes. You can junk cobble, dirt, and gravel, or send it to storage. You could send all the ores to a macerator, preferably overclocked, or some variant of such, and then to smelting. Anything that you don't want to macerate would be sent straight to smelting or storage.

Gold pipes for speed! :D

If in reading my suggestion you find it to be really confusing, I'm sorry.

Most of it's really not that advanced. Every item in that one screen is just crap that my quarry pulled out of the ground.

As for the crap that's holding it, that's Applied Energistics. The mod that has by far saved me the most space. The blocks required to handle my previous sorting system could fill a small room.

Applied Energistics. Sounds too advanced. I dont even know red power yet. Im just about to tear down the walls of my watermill and build tier 2 solar panals and finally make a damn industrial centrifuge. Hollowing out this mountain Im at with mining turtles(Quarry seems too expensive) is gonna suck. But I have gold chests, I have a gravity gun, I can carry my chests back and forth like they did in the old days!

Chest carrying is my favorite thing about FTB right now.

AE isn't that expensive, but it does require constant power, and bits of it can be confusing.

If you're used to sorting machines, just keep using them. You can have in-line sorting machines (they don't have to pull from a chest) that take anything not sorted by your first sorting machine and sorts them. 2 Sorting machines gives you filters for 60 items along up to 12 paths (plus an overflow route). That should cover most of your quarry output needs. If you want to be able to handle all the nether/end ores and silk touched ores, you might need to expand to a 3rd sorting machine, but if you're to that point you really should have an AE network running.

Well, if you want to keep using red power, I'd suggest you use filters.

So you start out by laying out a line of tubes, pulling items out of your quarry chest with a sorting machine or filter. Don't color your items here.
Along the long tube, you place filters which point to chests. Inside the filters you put the items you want sorted to those chests.
At the end of the tube you have an overflow chest/mechanism.
So all items will be send through the main tube, the filters will act as the first valid destination for the chosen items. The chest at the end will receive anything which can't go into the filters.
Optionally, you can change the filters with sorting machines if you want to filter more than 9 items to a chest.

why not export all that ores to machines for processing?

I can if I want to. I just prefer not to. I like to hang on to my ores until I need them as ingots or what have you, and then process them in bulk when I need them.
