Because I have seen several posts asking about this, I decided to make a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Note: Be sure to completely close minecraft before doing anything!

Step 1: Find the save data folders for the world you want to move and the age you want to move it into.
Step 2: Delete everything inside the save folder for the mystcraft age that you want to replace.
Step 3: Move/copy everything in the world save folder that you want to move into the now empty mystcraft age save folder.
Step 4: Fire up minecraft and enjoy your new mystcraft age!

i've Never thought of that but thats pretty cool. will it take the sky settings and stuff from the old world you replaced? or from the world you copied in?

It competely removes all data from the age that used to occupy the mystcraft age. The world that you move into the age save folder is 100% excatly the same as it was before you moved it.

Sadly, that doesn't seem to work for me. It might have something to do with the fact I'm trying to load my FTB beta map but I dunno enough about MC errors to know what causes it..

I know the issue is linked to mystcraft since it looks at dimensions, but I dunno what it actually is causing it.

For edit world properties like sky/instability inherited from mystcraft age need edit related agedata_N.dat file in WorldDir/data directory (where N is number same as in age directory name DIM_MISTn.
You can edit it by NBTedit tool.
Most important settings:
set visited = 1 (this will prevent reset changes in file, must be already set if you visit age early)
set InstabilityEnabdled = 0 (this will disabled any instabilities from old mystcraft age)
set seed to _exacty_ same number that used in copied world data (this let avoid world corruption when you will explore new chunks, world will generated in proper way as in old world)
Other can be set in SymbolK fields. Sorry i don't know exactly list allowed values.
I have for one copied to age world like symbolst list: http://imgur.com/p3WFl
Note: symbols list must have fields amount same as set in SymbolCount field.

In fact more recommended way move world to age instead posted in first posts:
1) create age, vist it
2) edit agedata_N.dat as described including set seed
3) remove any data in related DIM_MYSTn directory
4) visit age, check that generated world similar your not yet copied world (in state before your building agdded and etc)
5) remove any data in related DIM_MYSTn directory and copy instead now real world data
6) check that all ok
7) ALL DONE :)

Also you must be sure that used block/items ids same in old world and in world where age created.
But If worlds in same minecraft instalation that all must be ok. In other case some another thread topic must be ;)

Steps checked in time when i move my 7 independent worlds into ages of one another world linked by books network.

I just use some visually near to normal looking world. it's not exactly overworld symbols. Also for new mystcraft maybe better select symbols in new format. I think some posted in new mystcraft discussion thread for overworld similar maps.
