It's down to luck, just keep trying. However, if you have the Extra Bees mod, you can use it to modify all the bee's traits, that makes it a lot easier to get purebreds.

When two bees are bred together, the resulting offspring randomly chooses one race from each parent (baring in mind they've got two racial traits to pick from from each parent - active and inactive). For example, if you breed a demonic bee with a excited bee, the result will always be hybrids. Breeding those hybrids with each other gives a 25% chance of getting a pure demonic, a 25% of a pure excited, and a 50% chance of another hybrid, per offspring.

Mutations mix this up a bit - instead of getting a trait from the parents, if it's possible to mutate then you might get the mutant set of traits instead. Early on, breeding with soul frames is often enough to get both active and inactive sets of traits to mutate fairly often, but this starts to change with later generations of bees.

If you want to get anywhere, aim for imperial bees - these give you the resources needed to build the genetic machines from extra bees that'll make things a lot easier (and along with industrious bees, the resources to make alvearies, which'll greatly increase the output of ALL your bees).

Minimising lifespan and maximising fertility is essential to getting the dice to roll in your favour.

So I bred a Meadows with a Forest and I got a Common-Forest Hybrid Princess. Is there any way to make it a Common-Common Princess? I'm sorry I'm a big noob with this stuff.

If you have a drone which a common trait on it, then breeding that with your common/forest princess will give a 25% chance of getting a pure common bee per offspring. Assuming the drone's other race can't trigger another common mutation, in which case the chance is slightly better.

If you have a common/common drone to breed it with, then that becomes about a 50% chance per offspring.

If you don't have a drone with a common trait on it, then breeding most anything else with your current princess will give only a 50% chance of getting even another hybrid back, or a 50% chance of losing the common trait completely. Again not accounting for mutations.

Once you HAVE a pure common princess AND drone, then breeding them over and over will eventually give you a STACK of common drones. Breeding those with a given princess over and over will eventually see THAT become pure common too, no matter what race it started out as.

Once you have the genetic machines running then it becomes possible to directly change the race of bees without going through the breeding process (I once wrote a bit of a rough guide, though there are plenty of others out there).

In the meantime, don't think small. Make more alpairies, run them all at once (throw lots of dice, not one!). Harvest more wild hives. Work out how to make soul frames faster. Don't be afraid to throw away rubbish drones (into a genepool preferably), but make sure you hold onto your princesses (whether you can use them now or not).
