So I have been looking into the Magmatic Engines from Thermal Expansion, and I have noticed that everytime I use one, it will start off outputting at about 3 MJ/T, but after a couple seconds it drops down to 0.4 MJ/T. So, how does one get Magmatic Engines to output better? Also, all tests I did were with the engines at full lava capacity.

What are you passing the energy into? If they have nowhere to send the energy, they will slow down so they don't waste fuel. If the energy has somewhere to go, Magmatic Engines will put out 4.0MJ/t.

They are passing the energy into Redstone Energy Conduit, which I have hooked up to a Magma Crucible.

You probably didn't wrench your redstone conduits into receive mode. You want the arrow looking things where the conduit connects to the engine to point away from the engine, it means it's taking power from there. I think it's also yellow colored instead of blue, but don't quote me on that, I don't have minecraft at the moment.
