How to find a neather fortress on FTB INFINITY?

so been looking for ages for one, and nothing, is there some sort of method to improve my chances?

jetpack, hangglider, night vision, any item to stop fire damage and a whole lot of looking around

And if it is not in the pack already then consider adding JourneyMap. You might be able to spot one on it that you missed when travelling around.

I really love JourneyMap for this. I just go around the world in random directions till I'm far enough from my base, then I just open the worldmap and look for any kind of world generation and I create waypoints for them.
when I go back to base I go to all of these new waypoints and loot what can be looted and leave any waypoints for if I want to come back to it later.
