How to "Discover" bee species?

It used to be that the apiarists database showed all bee species. Now, it's blank. I've heard that you need to discover bees now, but I have no idea how to. Running a bee through a beealyser does nothing, and neither does putting one in an apiary. Anyone know how to discover bees?

breed two bees together and hope for a match? fill it like the pokedex?

I don't think so. It should be instant the second you run a new bee through the beealyser.

Nevermind, figured it out. Mundane species don't show up until you say use them to get common bees.

Bees get added to the database when they finish a cycle in an apiary not the beealyzer.
