I have a set up a personal server that runs on my computer at home that works great, except that many people on my server record and every time we log in a message appears (from Rei's minimap mod) saying that a certain amount of way points are loaded and then it says the server I.P. after that. We have not found a way to disable this other than spamming chat, but sometimes this is forgotten so I was wondering if it is possible to disable that function or if in the future there will be a way to do so. Also i was wondering if there is no way to disable that function is there a way i can add essentials to the mod pack so i could use the essentials mod to give everyone a spam message as soon as they spawn in to fill up the chat box to a point where the I.P. will go off screen.

Server related info:
- Privately hosted (not hosted by paying someone online)
- FTB Launcher version 1.2.0
- Playing on Mindcrack v7
- Running the server Mindcrack v7 modpack for Minecraft 1.4.6
- I am using a windows computer
- I didn't add any mods to the server pack i just ran the one i download from the launcher's link.
- It is asked that i give the server specs and i'm not sure if that means my computer specs or not, but here they are...
~Intel i7 3700k 3.5GHz
~ GeForce GTX 680 classified 4GB with Dual DVI, and HDMI DisplayPort
~ Corsair Vengence 16GB Memory 2 x 8 GB cards (1600 MHz)
~ P8Z68-V Pro motherboard
~ 2TB Barracuda 7200 RPM Hard Drive
~ 240 GB Corsair SATA III SolidState Drive (this is the hard drive the server runs on)
~ My internet speeds: 33 ms ping, 14.08 MB/s Download speed, 2.41 MB/s Upload speed. (speedtest[dot]net)
- Not sure if this matters but i host three servers at the same time (vanilla server, and a fun server, FTB Server). They all seem to perform fine though.
- I have some general knowledge on how to set up servers and such, but FTB is still fairly new to me.

I went through the How to Ask tech support thread and i think i have gotten everything. If there is anything i missed please reply back and i will try to improve the post as soon as possible.

(This edit part has been answered for me) Edit: One more thing i have no clue if it is needed or not, but i believe i am running the server with 2 GB of Ram because my start.bat i configured to say this... java -Xms2G -Xmx4G -jar mindcrack.jar
If you could tell me how much that allocates to the server that would be greatly appreciated because i had always set up servers where the numbers were the same and then i was told that the second number had to be double and i just got confused. So at the moment i assume that is allocating 2GB of Memory and not 4GB, Is this correct?

I have no idea how to change the rei'sminimap IPadresses, whould need to check if thats possible when i'm home from work later today

note: java -Xms2G -Xmx4G -jar mindcrack.jar whould mean that the server uses atleast 2GB and max 4GB
in general we advise to keep -XMS the way it was (-XMS512M)

There is nothing wrong, but why whould you allocated 2GB by default while the server when non is on only uses 512MB for example? it's 1.5GB that could be used for something else incase it's needed.

Eh, he's got 16 gb, I don't think he's going to run out of memory anytime soon :p I was worried for a second that there was like a performance issue or something if you allocate more memory, which would be really weird , stop scaring me like that silly! :p

I would suggest you just whitelist the server so that even if they have the ip they cant connect.

Ok thankyou for answering that it has bugged me for quite a while now and now that I know what it means I will change the minimum value to 512 MB, Thanks again!

Yes I have my server whitelisted, but I still don't feel safe giving my I.P. address out to a bunch of random people. Also it will start spamming the console log if people are constantly trying to connect.

Maybe doing the spam chat thing is the best thing you can do then. Or have them not type anything when recording.

Well, there is always the option of doing what my friend does, and whitelisting the players' IP's, and so even if people outside have the IP, it won't even poll on the server list, let alone try to log in.

I'm also wondering how to prevent Rei's from showing the server IP in chat when logging in. I know they have a mod on the Forgecraft 2.0 server. And I think some of the other big servers like the one used for Mindcrack has the mod. Anyone know how we mortals might be able to get our hands on the Rei IP Hider mod?
