How to create unique blocks?

Typically I used EE2 as my source of unique blocks such as: marble, basalt (both from RP2), as well as sandstone, mossy cobble, etc.

Without EE2, is there any way to create the various types of cobblestone and sandstone? I know moss will spread to cobble under certain conditions, but what about the 3 types of sandstone? (the ones with the creeper face, etc)

As I love to decorate my home rather than make a barebones 9x9 (no offense to those DW fans who do ) any tips would be great!

ee3 minium stone can change the sandstone to other types

Four Sandstone of any type in your normal crafting grid will make Smooth Sandstone. Two Sandstone Slabs vertically adjacent to each other will make the hieroglyphic sandstone, whatever it's called.

The Moistener from Forestry will convert your cobblestone or stone bricks to the mossy versions.
