They removed the default minecraft clean double slab from the game when they added nether brick slabs. As the double nether brick slab now occupies the data value of the old double clean slab. However I think the concrete in railcraft uses its texture.

I know that there is a way to do it in the Mindcrack pack. Ethoslab on YT created a lot, but didn't show the recipe.

As far as I know that's on the vanilla Mindcrack server, not the FTB one. His double slabs also got replaced with the new Netherbrick ones as well. I'm pretty sure that on the FTB server he only has regular blocks and slabs, not the clean double ones.

So yeah, I also think it isn't possible to get them anymore, unless a mod adds them again, but I don't think any of the FTB mods do.

FWIW, in the beta pack it's 4 slabs placed round a smooth stone block, or 2 slabs next to each other or above each other in your crafting square. Just in case you haven't already tried those.

the old smoothstone slabs that looked sort-of like marble.(as in, light-colored stone, not the marble from RP2) the double slab was two stacked on top of each other to form a full block.

EDIT for the sake of clearing something up: in the current version of the both the Mindcrack DW pack stone slabs are craftable from three smoothstone, just as they were before. I don't see what the complaint is about, unless I'm missing something.

Your edit confuses me more than it clears up xD You can craft regular half slabs like that, but we're talking about the double slabs without a line in the middle, I don't see how that's relevant to this discussion. Also, this topic isn't a complaint, it's a question and that question is how to make the seamless double slabs.

Either I'm not seeing/understanding what your edit is commenting on or it really doesn't add much to this discussion xD

They were never craft-able in default minecraft beyond using a block transmutation glitch so it makes sense that they would over right them but I hope they bring it back.

The clean double slab is basically 2 stone slabs on top of each other with out the line across the middle so it had a nice smooth texture.

A lot of adventure and custom maps used to use them for how good they looked and the fact that you could not craft them.

btw, they are still in the game (in 1.4.6). If you type 43 in NEI they are there with all the other double slabs, they don't have a recipe according to NEI though. So you can cheat them in by giving yourself 43:7, or maybe abuse some sort of glitch, but there isn't a truly legitimate way to get them atm.

Alternatively you might want to look into the CF Sprayer from IC2, once the CF dries up if creates blocks that look quite similar to the seamless double slabs.
