It only lets me allocate 1G of RAM,Seriously? Hmmm.... maybe the options tab will give you options for ram allocation...
Now you want to show me what to put int he extra java peramiters?

Yea, weirdest thing, it IS installed, but minecraft wont use 64 bit, only 32bit.To allocate more than 1gb, install 64-bit java and have at least 3gb of ram. Java parameters are under advanced options.
Alright, why windows 8, 84 bit, came with 32 bit java AND 64 bit, I will never know.deinstall the 64 bit, deinstall the 32bit and only install the 64 bit.
OR are you using a 32bit OS?
If you only got the 64bit be aware that you need the 32bit to to run som apps that is based og the 32bit ver fx. Technic Launcher
