Quite simply, the group of guys I play with, some want to have a creative world while others want a survival. I want to appease both and simply gen another world with the same seed as the current world and add it in, or just even copy the existing survival and make it creative. World will only be reachable through mod tp commands which will be linked to server signs so that none of the creative world can spill into the survival world.

I've tried searching my butt off but anytime I search for add new world or anything of the like, I get how to create a new world and not add one to an existing server. Would really appreciate some help. i don't want to mystcraft it, just a basic gen.

Server is running on FTB Unleashed through MCPC so a bukkit solution would be fine, but would like to avoid having to use yet another bukkit mod like Multiverse to make it happen. I just need to be able to use /world <worldname> to get to it.

Hmmm. Using MC edit you could probably generate two land platforms. One for creative, one for survival. My friend had a server that did this. The main problem is that you're going to have to limit the size of the world, since you are defining the land masses. Put them tens of thousands of blocks apart, then generate a relatively large land mass for both. They'd have to be satisfied with the fact that the world will not continue to generate when you hit the edge.

After that it's a matter of setting permission as per the area you're in. Set up portals to go backwards and forth and you're golden.

I don't know the specific details, but this is how I understand him to have gotten this to work.

Need to be separate worlds. Harddrive space is not an issue. I got 500+ gigs avail for worlds to utilize and up to 6 gigs of memory for the active worlds.

Server Signs will handle all the gamemode settings, permissions groups, etc. I.e., you click the creative sign, forces a drop all or kills your char so you drop all, sets your mode to creative and then /world you into the other world and vice versa.

Without using Mystcraft or Bukkit, the only way you could separate your server this way would be to relegate either the Creative or the Survival people to the Nether, the End, or a DimDoors pocket dimension; or just set up two entirely different servers and link the chats via ForgeIRC.

Wouldn't be hard with Mystcraft, though- use the Native Biome Controller symbol without any biomes or other terrain symbols, and set up Disarming linkbooks (Link Modifier FTW!) between the Overworld and this age. You might run into problems with people creating other linkbooks between one place and the other- but that would be less of a problem than people setting up Enderchests or Tesseracts and transferring stuff that way.

In short, it will be hard to keep different areas on the same server completely separate, no matter what you do to keep them apart. Different servers are probably easier- and shouldn't be a problem, considering your hardware.

I imagine that using command blocks to teleport/clear inventory with one button press would work. Mystcraft ages would be the easiest, Dimdoors could hold the intermediary place, and then you'd have to find some way to prevent a person from walking/flying from one 'world' to another.
