How much of GregTech can you change?

So i've been watching a lets play while playing ftb and it seems like the guy in the video has stuff from gregtech,like the industrial centrifuge, but i dont. I wanted to add greg tech but people said it was too hard and the recipes are very expensive.Then i found out that you can config the gregtech how you want and remove those recipes. My question is,how much can you change? Can i get it to the point where i just get the extra stuff,no need for changing the stuff and recipes that are already in the pack? Also,if i add it to the pack,can i continue playing in my world,will anything get messed up or do i need to start a new one? Thanks.

Yes it is possible to config GT to almost completely non-interference and make it significantly easier, but it is a lot of work and you will need to know what you are doing. We are probably talking hundreds+ of config changes and possibly minetweaking recipes and doing oredict'ing.

I would not recommend attempting this your self. Instead use of the modpacks where this have already been done.

You like GT maschines but not the "Hard" work?
I thoguht the same thing but I started a GT pack on Hardmode and I acctualy like it. You get kind of a progresion bar. It is not like in other Modpacks were you can basicly start how ever you like it.
