hey im starting a new ftb (unleashed) and i just wanted to know how much one pump and four redstone engines could supply for geo thermals so * how many geo's can a pump keep fueled with lava?

Im not really sure, but I think that redstone engines dont work with Ender thermic pump anymore. At least i could´t get it work. Hook up a magmatic dynamo to the pump and it will pump like the devil before the worlds end.

Four redstone engines could probably run a Buildcraft pump fast enough for quite a few geothermals or magmatic dynamos. I know a BC pump + 4 RS engines can produce enough water to supply four or so combustion engines, and they eat a lot more water than pretty much anything early-game eats lava.

If I remember correctly, there was a change to make Redstone Engine to be useless except for working on wooden pipes?

How much lava can a lava pump pump, if a lava pump could pump lava?

I see where the OP was going, I just had to finish it up properly. :)

Only in the newest versions. Unleashed is a 1.6.4 pack and it works in them.
Correction it is a 1.5.2 pack so way back when thermal expansion really started to branch away from ic2 and become its own mod/system

I'm just now realizing that you did my joke an hour before I did. ALSO I looked for anyone else doing it and I still missed yours. Because I'm blind?

In any event, I like my version better :p

Oops, you are correct on the version. But TE was never related to ic2 in any way. Although it wasn't fully stand alone at the beginning(it ran on MJ which was Buildcraft), it became stand alone when RF was invented and King Lemming added dynamos.

I stand corrected. I do remember being able to use the TE pipes with ic2 in ultimate and that maybe where my confusion lies

A pump(BC) uses 10MJ per block(bucket) it pumps, and can do so at a max rate of 20 buckets/s or 10MJ/t.
A redstone engine produces at maximum(red state) 0.08MJ/t
A bucket of lava lasts 1000ticks in a Geothermal Generator.

The lava pumped by 4 Redstone engines = Power/Energy per block = (4*0.08Mj/t)/(10MJ/b) = 0.032b/t = 0.64b/s (no where near potential of pump so no people don't need another..)

Total number of Geothermals sustained by 4 Redstone Engines = Lava per tick * Tick per bucket = (4*0.08Mj/t)/(10MJ/b)*(1000t/b) = 32

Little bit. Slightly overkill for this perhaps since the only thing to calculate is 4*8 :p

Lol haven't seen one those in years. My dad had one but he lost it in his garage somewhere. Now we are all using the ti-84's

One of the best investments I have ever made ;)
The full qwerty keyboard is really handy when typing in long equations and/or units. Glad I didn't settle for something less like a TI 89.
Bought mine back when the Voyage 200 was just coming out. They have almost identical stats and having used both and finding the 92's ergonomics far superior, I have been very satisfied with the purchase.
