How do you use/activate NEI Trash/Magnet?

They are not showing up in the left hand corner, how do I use them?

You need to switch the inventory setting from recipe to utility mode. Open inventory, click options in bottom left, change global to world in the top right, then you should be able to select utility in the inventory settings.
