I go do something else. And I mean something other then Minecraft. I find a lot of my motivation and ideas happen when I'm no were near MC. I'll be derping it up in say Dark Souls and be all. OH man you know what I need... a mage tower! and I'll start thinking about that. Then when I pop on MC agian I got all these ideas and I am ready to go.
^this is what I do, usually. Except sometimes I'll just play one of the technic user made packs. Even if i'm still playing Minecraft, it keeps me from getting bored and deleting the world.

It seems like I have this problem every other day. I want to play Minecraft but I just don't feel motivated to play it. I usually watch prank videos on youtube.

I either go for a spin and look for abandoned mineshafts for a while, or I just come up with a completely different idea. I may never actually get to making that idea into a reality, but just refocusing my attention on something other than what I've been running myself ragged doing is usually pretty helpful.

Biking is fun. Ping Pong isn't half bad either. Arduino hacking: also a good way to pass the time. Been trying for a kid lately... erhem. Nevermind on that last one...

For me the best part of Modded Minecraft is that you can fundamentally change the game by swirling a few mods around. The core building concept is pretty hard to beat, but you can make a modpack that delivers exactly what you want. And you could also write a mod to further customize it. So i do that.

Never be in creative for a moment to fix something and accidentally punch your machine storage chest with a full inventory. It's amazing how in creative ya can pick up everything even if you're pack is full. The stuff just goes to la la land.

That aside.

When I get that feeling, I go off with food, extra armor and swords, and beat stuff up for a while. No jet pack, no power armor, no potions, just old school smack down. I also make noises of swords swishing, and trash talk creepers when they die and then follow up by being blown up by another creeper behind me. Get mad. Rage quit. Come back and get back to what I was doing before cuz I'm now mad at myself for getting blowd up and I just wanna do projects again.

Sorta like how Direwolf20 says "endermen" stop him from using technology in Twilight Forest

Actually that'd be a good addition to Twilight Forest.

I agree, but I dont think some people would like it. They should make it so anything that uses electricity would not be allowed in the twilight, so like if you were to go into the portal with a drill in your hand when you arrived in the twilight a message would come on your screen (like the flux messages) saying that item is not allowed. Then you get it back when you leave. Or they could do it like DW20 and have it give you a bad effect (maybe nausea so people really couldnt stand it). Of course, this option would HAVE to be in the config, because god forbid the game gets too hard for some people.

I handle it by finding myself a co-builder.

It's kinda like with real life. Once you find somebody to love, making progress with your life makes so much more sense.

By which I'm NOT trying to say I love my co-builders, try not too read too much into a simple simile.

Generally when I get that feeling in MC I'll either see if someone else on my server needs some help with a project if I still feel like playing MC. But more often then not I shut the game down and go paint some of my toy soldiers. The hansom fellow you see on the left was painted in 4 or 5 of these MC burn outs
