At the risk of sounding like an advertising bot: Mekanism's Ultimate Mechanical Pipes move liquids at a rate of 6400 mB/t. If my knowledge of the numbers of correct, that's the output of 128 Aqueous Accumulators. I'm not sure about how much Mekanism's electrical pump generates, but it requires a far less compact setup than an XU transfer node. What I usually do: I use a transfer node to pump water into a nearby tank, and then use other mods' pipes to move the water where it needs to be. Alternatively, I store water in my ME network. Extra Cells' fluid export buses are really fast if upgraded.

Unfortunately, Extra Cells didn't make Infinity. I miss it dearly. Same with Mek - no Infinity. I'm not in a position to add mods, nor do I think I would this deep into our world.

I'm exploring alternative methods currently...

That's the reason why I'm playing Resonant Rise instead of Infinity. AE2 without Extra Cells is unappealing, and while I can add mods, I couldn't find a separate download for Extra Cells at the time. Very odd.

As for power generation, I used to start with tree farms. It's easily the most efficient way for the many ways you can use wood and charcoal, and it's even the starting point for steel production. I grew tired of that, switched to Lava power. Now the tree farm has renewed its appeal with Mekanism's way to make the highly-efficient Ethylene from biomass and hydrogen. I don't usually *use* non-norenewable energy sources, though I still keep stores of BC fuel and some other stuff because it's fun making the infrastructure, and it's useful for peaks in power demand. MFR Biofuel may be the most efficient to make if you know how, but its production remains a torturously slow process.
