I actually was meaning the actual infusion.. because of how much instability there was, when I tried to craft it myself the first time, I had 5 stacks of heads set up in symetrical formation, and it still kept on destroying items.. (which I wasn't prepared for)

Mid: rotarycraft boring machine
Late: rotarycraft silktouch boring machine on supercharged power

I have yet to formally test this but I think you can beat it entirely with a few stacks of heads or candles.

Sounds like you need a few orderly lamps!(5 will take a max danger infusion and make it 0 danger)

Just did a creative test: 363 candles completely eliminate flux effects. That's 3 layers of 11x11 candles and it costs 242 Magic Tallow, which is admittedly expensive but much easier to get now using the automatic crucible. Tested by crafting an Awakened Ichorium Pickaxe; not a single lightning bolt or goo effect was seen.

Did the matrix jiggle?
The runic matrix is a visual indicator of the instability, if it's completely symmetrical while crafting that means no flux effects
Whilst if it's kinda off center it's ok, but not bad
if it's wobbling all over the place, duck and take cover.

When I first activated it, it went nuts. After that it stayed put exactly centered.
