How do you add plugins to an Infinity server?

I have a friend that is trying to set up a FTB Infinity server. He used to run a server a while back with a lot of the usual plugins (pregenerated world, borders, protected claims, mcmmo). But he's saying that now he can't have plugins because bukkit and cauldron have both been abandoned. To quote him, "Also. just so everyone is aware there will most likely be no plugins this time around, due to bukkit being abandoned along with cauldron (only way to have plugins with mods)". Is this really the case? Because it seems like it would be hard to have a successful public server if you can't have any plugins on it at all.

cauldron still works but isnt supported

just get the jar and the libraries that goes with it.

There are some mods that wont work with it thought
